Site update: three new Microsoft case studies

26 Aug

Oi, mucca! I’ve updated my Web site to include some recently published case studies I wrote: two on Microsoft Exchange Server 2003, and one on Microsoft Business Solutions.

I’ll save you a trip (because I know you’re dying to read them!) and link them here:

Thomas Technology Solutions Reduces Manual Processes with Integrated Systems

The MBS case study was a tough one. It was not only the first time I’d written about the product, it was my first time writing about accounting and finance. There’s no real reason I should know what a “monthly close” is, but I felt like a doofus when I’d have to stop during the customer interview to ask what some term or other meant.

The oddest things come up when you do a Web search to try and find the origins of a word like “doofus.”

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: the Web makes life weird.
