Informal survey: Torture, secret prisons morally superior to marketing

23 Jan

ME: “You know, the more I read about the various intelligence agencies – the skills they use, the kind of people they look for – I think that if I had known all of that back when I was in high school, I might have taken that career path. The only problem is the evil. They do some really cool things; but they do some really evil things.”

JACK: “Intelligence agencies aren’t totally evil, though. For instance, the NSA – until the current administration, at least – would not spy on Americans. If they obtained intelligence that was gotten through spying on an American citizen, they’d discard it.”

ME: “I guess the closest I’ve come to a career in evil is marketing.”

JACK: “Oh, no – marketing is completely evil.”
