Happy Juneteenth! There are all sorts of reasons to like this holiday, starting with the beautifully American name. Now that I think about it, I would really love for the end of slavery in this country to become a federal holiday. We have a Black History Month, and a Martin Luther King Jr. Day, and those are fine; but it’d be nice to have a day in which we all openly and bluntly acknowledge the reality of slavery, and say, “Boy, are we glad that shit’s over.”
I’m off to the Microsoft campus today to learn about cool new tech. In a word, w00t!
