Sound Transit is providing free Wi-Fi Internet access on some of its buses through…June.

D’oh!
There’s been an item on my PocketMod to-do list for a couple of weeks now that reads, Look up “Ride the Wave, Surf the Web,” which was an ad that I glimpsed on the side of a Puget Sound bus as it hurtled past in the opposite direction on the freeway.
It turns out that if I rode the Sounder commuter rail between Everett and Seattle, or rode the bus between Seattle and Redmond, I too could have enjoyed the benefits of this trial program. The home page says that this is being done in partnership with King County Transit, which currently offers Wi-Fi on some of its buses. Clearly, I have to find out which ones.
Or do I? I mean, the idea of Wi-Fi on a bus is cool, but I use my bus time to catch up on podcasts. Which I could also do with my laptop, I’ll admit, in a much more cumbersome way.
FYI, the regular podcasts that are currently on heavy rotation during my commute are:
The Writer’s Almanac with Garrison Keillor
Slate Daily Podcast and “Today’s Papers” Textcast
NPR’s Wait, Wait, Don’t Tell Me!
Escape Pod Science Fiction Podcast Magazine
…and the highly occasional political podcast Journey to the Center Of.
