Radio Silence for the week of Thanksgiving

18 Nov

The missus and I are going to Georgia on Monday, to spend time with my dad and his side of the family for Thanksgiving. We come back on the following Saturday. I’m not bringing my laptop so it’s A WEEK WITHOUT THE INTERWEB.

Well, I’ll probably be able to check my e-mail on my parents’ computer a couple of times. And I coould post an occasional photo to Flickr using my camera-telephone.

While we’re there, we plan are to eat at Chick Fil-A and Waffle House I also plan to eat at Krystal, but don’t tell Angela. She’ll just make a face.

I wonder if it’s too late in the year for boiled peanuts?

Y’all have a happy Thanksgiving! Except the Canadians, who will be too preoccupied with changing their flag so it features the Batman symbol.

Pure cane sugar Dr Pepper

19 Oct

I forgive Gmail completely for offering me sex toys the other day just beecause a friend wrote “my pleasure” in an e-mail message.

Just now, out of nowhere, it served up an ad for pure cane sugar Dr Pepper through Old Doc’s Soda Shop. Ever since I learned of it, I’ve wanted to try this original-recipe soda that is only available through select retail outlets (such as Galco’s Soda Pop Stop in Los Angeles) or at your local store if you live near the bottling company in Dublin, Texas.

Hooray, Gmail! You’re learning!

Midnight vulture

22 Sep

It’s a quarter to midnight, and I’ve just uploaded craploads of revised Web pages to an online workspace for the client to review.

I really hope they like them.

Special thanks to my wife for being patient, to our cats for being distractingly cute, and to Sobe for making this delicious cold green tea drink that probably isn’t any better healthwise than a soda, but WHATEVER MAN IT’S TEA.

Also to Dylan for hepping me to Kimya Dawson. I’m listening to “I Like Giants” right this very now.

Jon Silk tagged me with a meem again! This time from the Lewis 360 PR blog, not Clogger; so maybe when I act on it I’ll post it on the New Marketing blog and invite my co-bloggers to play. It’s “what are your five favorite YouTube videos?” I’m mentally winnowing through my Favorites in order to come up with the the ones that have real staying power in my head. Not sure yet if “A minute of screaming” will make the final cut.

Okay, time for bed. Goodnight, moon.
