13th Age RPG at Gamerati Game Day, Saturday Sept. 24

wreck-of-volunds-glory_coverIf you’re in the Seattle-Tacoma-Olympia area, I’ll be running my 13th Age adventure The Wreck of Volund’s Glory this Saturday at Gamerati Game Day in Tacoma! Maybe you’ll come play?

I plan to use the default 13th Age setting of the Dragon Empire this time. We’ll spend an hour filling in the pre-generated characters’ icon relationships, backgrounds, and One Unique Things before embarking on an expedition into the Deathless defile to recover stolen treasure.

There’s room for up to six players at the table. I hope to see you then!

The Wreck of Volund’s Glory (13th Age RPG)

1:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.

A dwarven airship has crashed in the magic-blasted wastelands with a stolen magical artifact on board. Evade, outwit, or out-fight undead goblins, magic abominations, and rival adventurers to reach the prize! No experience necessary, level 2 pre-generated characters provided.

Gen Con 2016: Where to Find Me

GenCon2016It’s convention season again, and Gen Con Indy is right around the corner. If you see me, say hi! If you’re with the media, I’ll gladly put my PR hat on and help you wrangle interviews with folks from Pelgrane Press and Kobold Press.

This year is especially exciting for me, because the 13th Age Game Master’s Screen & Resource Book, which I co-wrote with Cal Moore, is nominated for an ENnie award. It would be very cool to win, but I’m proud just to be on the slate of nominees.

New short story in Midgard Preview from Kobold Press

Midgard Preview coverMy very short story “At the Sign of the World Serpent” is one of two pieces of fiction in Midgard Preview, which you can download free from Kobold Press. DriveThruRPG named Midgard Preview the Free Product of the Week in the current issue of its e-newsletter.

The other piece of fiction in the book  is by best-selling author and award-winning game designer Jeff Grubb. The credits also include Ben McFarland, who just won a gold ENnie award at Gen Con, and Wolfgang Baur who is…well, he’s Wolfgang Baur. It’s an honor to be included, is what I’m saying.

It also makes me think that “Grubb and Rockett” would be a great name for a business in a steampunk story. Maybe they’d make rocket packs.
